Technology for Daughters<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This year, girls aged 14 to 18 once again visited Siemens locations in Vienna, Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Linz to get a taste of what it\u2019s like to work at the company during Girls\u2019 Day and Vienna\u2019s Daughters\u2019 Day.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Visitor Center and the Training Center in Siemens City in Vienna-Floridsdorf, the girls explored various technical career fields. One of the highlights was modern building technology: Siemens experts demonstrated how smart technology works\u2014from fire protection systems to security systems and building automation. How does a building detect a fire? How do alarm systems and access control systems work? And how can indoor comfort be controlled automatically? As a hands-on exercise, the teenagers practiced using soldering irons and electronic components, and in the process built a small electronic circuit that they were allowed to take home as a souvenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training Opportunities at Siemens Austria<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siemens in Austria offers 17 different apprenticeship programs in the business and technical fields, as well as various models: ranging from a traditional apprenticeship with or without a Matura to a study program integrated with vocational training\u2014offered throughout Austria in cooperation with various universities\u2014to the Digital Systems Professional program. Particular emphasis is placed on the topics of digitalization, sustainability, and Industry 4.0. Building expertise in areas such as cloud computing, machine-to-machine communication, additive manufacturing, network technology, and robotics also requires tailored teaching approaches and methods for conveying this new content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training with Benefits<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In total, Siemens Austria trains 300 young professionals, and approximately 100 apprentices are accepted each year. The benefits of an apprenticeship are obvious: job security, good career prospects, and an above-average salary are just a few of the incentives.
