Siemens uses extensive data, including from the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), to evaluate the life-cycle performance of a product based on a series of well-founded ecodesign criteria in the following three dimensions: sustainable materials, optimal use, value recovery and circular economy. Ecodesign criteria include various aspects such as the use of low-carbon materials, the use of sustainable packaging, energy efficiency, longevity, circular economy advice and recyclability. These detailed insights form the basis for the Siemens EcoTech Profile (SEP) \u2014 a product data sheet on the comparable performance of a product in areas such as materials, design, use phase and end of life cycle. Siemens thus offers more data transparency than any other company in the industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, all Siemens EcoTech products are now manufactured in production facilities that are powered by 100 percent electricity from renewable energy sources. Communication is one of the strengths of SIRIUS ACT and the new design of the command and reporting devices has significantly reduced the environmental impact of these products \u2014 from production to transportation to disposal. As a result, complex input stations can be set up without major wiring and engineering costs. Integration into the TIA Portal enables visual presentation for better comparison with the hardware structure, which facilitates and speeds up hardware configuration.
